For better teeth, bones and general well-being.

Calcium is a fundamental mineral for the metabolism of our entire body, especially for the strengthening of our skeleton (where 99% of this mineral is concentrated). In addition to building bones and teeth, calcium is important because it allows the enzymatic activity involved in muscle contraction, the release of neurotransmitters, the regulation of heart rate, blood clotting, among others.

Calcium stimulates the release of calcitonin, a thyroid hormone, which allows calcium to be removed from the bloodstream and directed to bone tissue, where its levels are replenished.
Calcium also has a fundamental role in the muscular system, as it is necessary in the contraction phase, allowing the hydrolysis of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and consequent use for energy production. Also of paramount importance for muscle function is the influence of calcium on neurotransmitter activity and transmission of nerve impulses. Muscle contraction is useful in several processes of the body's functioning, from voluntary movements (body movement) to involuntary movements (pumping blood and movement of food through the digestive tract).

The activation of the nervous system is regulated by neurotransmitters and the concentration of calcium in the terminal membrane of the nerve cell will dictate how much neurotransmitters are needed to be released. The end result of calcium's influence on neurotransmitters is less nervous sensitivity and irritability.
There is also evidence of the beneficial role of calcium on cardiovascular health, particularly in terms of a risk-reducing effect of hypertension.

The form of citrate (of the citric acid found in citrus fruits) of calcium contributes to a better biological utilization without presenting the drawbacks of other forms of calcium that can, in predisposed individuals, cause or increase the formation of oxalates (kidney stones). Calcium citrate requires less acid in the stomach for its absorption than other mineral forms; this characteristic becomes especially important in people over 55 and with digestive problems.

Magnesium is another important mineral in maintaining bone mass. Bone tissue contains approximately 60% of the magnesium in the body. One of the functions of this mineral, within the structure of the skeleton, is to help regulate the levels of calcium in bones and teeth, also having a role on the activity of vitamin D, which is an indispensable nutrient, aiding calcium absorption.

Magnesium participates in the enzymatic activity that involves the supply of energy to cells. It also allows for an improvement in muscle activity by reducing the spasms that can arise; by relaxing the muscles, it helps to normalize blood pressure.
The combination of magnesium with calcium allows an optimal metabolism of bones, teeth and cardiovascular system. Calcium / magnesium in a 2: 1 ratio is considered the most convenient.
In addition to the advantages and indications already mentioned in the previous calcium and magnesium products, this formula also contains boron, which enhances the properties described.

Boron helps to retain calcium in bones, as it is necessary for the activity of vitamin D, responsible for the absorption of calcium at the intestinal level and its accumulation in bones. It also makes it possible to raise estrogen levels in postmenopausal women. This allows an increase in the use of calcium for bone formation, as well as a decrease in other symptoms associated with the lack of estrogens, after menopause. There are also some studies that mention that boron supplementation has a beneficial effect on the joints, in case of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile arthritis.
