Menopause

A menopause it is a phase of a woman's life in which the natural interruption of menstruation occurs, because the female hormones (estrogen and progesterone) are no longer produced by the ovaries. It usually occurs between 48 and 51 years of age.

Climacteric and menopause

Climacteric is the scientific name given to the transition period in which women pass the reproductive phase (menstrual cycle) for the non-reproductive phase (post-menopause).

Thus, menopause is a fact that occurs during the climacteric, in which there is a decrease in ovarian functions, causing menstrual cycles to become irregular, until they cease completely.
