Anti-inflammatories

What is inflammation?

In any infection or injury, our body develops inflammation as a defense mechanism that is part of the healing process. For example, if you sprain your ankle and it swells, this is a signal to alert you to the injury on the spot. In principle, it helps you to protect against worse trauma. But it can become a problem when the actual infectious agent has not been eliminated - so the body alone cannot end the inflammatory response.
