The properties of Turmeric in treating joint problems were already known by the ancient peoples of Asia, as documented in Ayurvedic texts and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Over the past 50 years, there has been intense research into Curcumin, the active ingredient in Turmeric, which has shown pleiotropic activity.
