Potassium is an essential nutrient for the functioning of the body. It is the most abundant mineral found in the human body, with a high intracellular concentration, being vital to renal function and a key factor in cardiac and musculoskeletal contraction. Potassium deficiency (hypokalemia) can lead to serious health problems.

Modern diets, rich in salt and poor in fruits and vegetables, cause a general lack of potassium in the diet. Potassium is recommended in cases of taking oral contraceptives, in smokers, athletes, vegetarians and for those whose activity includes high levels of physical effort. It also promotes regular blood pressure.

It can compensate for the decrease in potassium caused by over-treatment with certain diuretics, prolonged use and large doses of corticosteroids and situations of severe diarrhea or in the case of diseases of the renal tubules that lead to loss of potassium. It may be useful in individuals with liver cirrhosis and taking digitalis, to avoid the risk of potassium depletion in these patients.

How to use:

Take 1 tablet 1 to 3 times a day, with a glass of water.
