The celandine (Chelidonium majus) is a medicinal plant also known as celandine major, chelidonia, chelidonia, swallowweed, seruda, wart weed and greater celandine (English). It belongs to the Papaveraceae family.

Celidonia has a long history of use in European countries and in Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of various ailments. The plant's root, leaves and latex have medicinal properties. The ancient Greeks used the plant to treat liver, gallbladder and skin problems. In China, it was used as a muscle relaxant and antispasmodic. Some studies have detected antiviral, anti-tumor and antimicrobial potential in the plant. Chelidonium majus is a tranquilizer for the nervous system and a moderate sedative.

How to use:
One dessert spoon to half a liter of water. Use freshly boiled water. Drop the plant into the water and cover the bowl tightly. Leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes. Strain and you're done. You can drink 1 or 2 cups a day.
