Coenzyme Q-10, or ubiquinone, is present in all plant and animal cells, being an essential component of mitochondria (cellular organ responsible for energy production). As a fat-soluble nutrient, CoQ-10's antioxidant activity is associated with lipid protection (examples: cell membranes, triglycerides, cholesterol, fatty acids, brain tissues, nervous system).
